Centre for Research Excellence in Total Joint Replacement Clinical Scholarship

Approximately $26 916 to support a graduate student researching arthritis at the St Vincent's Hospital precinct, with particular attention to the study of osteoarthritis or any other related theme in synergy with the program's five-year focus spanning clinical care, health economics, outcomes modelling, and implementation research.

  • Eligibility & selection criteria


    To be eligible for this scholarship, you need to:

    • be enrolled in a research higher degree in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, supervised/co-supervised at the University of Melbourne (Primary) or other Australian University/Institute
    • be a research higher degree student studying in the area of Medicine, Health Science, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Psychology, Statistics and Epidemiology
    • be a domestic or international student undertaking a PhD at the University of Melbourne, supervised/co-supervised at the University of Melbourne or other Australian University/Institute
    • have completed tertiary studies that are at least equivalent to a 4-year honours degree at an Australian university with a minimum result equivalent to a first class Honours (80%)
    • have not completed a PhD or held a graduate research scholarship previously
    • have a PhD course offer to study at the University of Melbourne and commence their PhD in the 2017 calendar year

    Selection criteria

    Eligible applicants are assessed on

    • academic merit
    • faculty scholarship score
    • demonstrated skill in the relevant research area
  • Application process

    Formal application should include:

    • a certified copy of your academic transcript, including grading information
    • a copy of your CV, including information on any relevant publications

    Expressions of interest and questions can be directed towards the Centre Manager via email where further information will be obtained for potential candidates.

  • When will I know the outcome?

    Applicants will be notified by 28 July 2017.
