Eligibility & selection criteria
Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- Be accepted to commence study in the Melbourne JD; and
- Have applied through Graduate Access Melbourne (GAM) under the (1) ‘Recognition as an Indigenous Australian’ and (2) ‘Disadvantaged socio-economic circumstances’ categories; satisfy the GAM eligibility criteria for those categories; and supply the required documentation for those categories, including:
- a Certificate of Aboriginality or a Statutory Declaration;
- a 500-word statement outlining the student’s socio-economic circumstances;
- the ‘Disadvantaged socioeconomic circumstances – Supplementary form’, which includes an additional 750-word statement, and income and expenses summaries; and
- substantiation of claims with relevant, third-party verified, documentation such as payslips, Centrelink statements etc.
Selection criteria
Students will be automatically considered for this award based on their application for admission to the Melbourne Juris Doctor through the Graduate Access Melbourne (GAM) under the 'Disadvantaged socio-economic circumstances' category. This process includes providing a complete Disadvantaged socioeconomic circumstances supplementary form and any required supporting documentation/statements.
