  • Eligibility & selection criteria

    Eligibility

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you need to:

    • be a PhD or masters by research candidate in Italian Studies at the University of Melbourne School of Language and Linguistics
    • The scholarship may be used to support: research related travel; attendance at academic conferences or seminars; course fees at an overseas institution; other activity deemed directly to support the applicant’s research, as determined by the scholarship committee.
    • Recipients are required to:

    • Accept award online within 21 days
    • Submit a final report

    Selection criteria

    Selection will be based on the following criteria:

    • Academic achievement.
    • Merit of the proposed use of the scholarship, as outlined in a proposal of up to 500 words.
    • Consideration of academic references.
  • Application process

    Complete the online application and upload the following supporting documents:

    • A statement of about 500 words indicating how the award is likely to enhance your research project and graduate research experience
    • Details of your research program and/or travel itinerary if applicable
    • Current academic transcript
    • Two academic references
    • Any other information to support application that may assist the selection committee in making its decision
  • When will I know the outcome?

    Applicants will be advised of the outcome via email within 6-8 weeks after the closing date.

    Fatima Tahiri

    An alumna of the University of Melbourne, Ms Fatima Tahiri is supporting two scholarships for post-doctoral and research students in Italian Studies. These are both named after her mother, Giuseppina PatitiTahiri.
