  • Eligibility & selection criteria

    Eligibility

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

    • be female
    • be in your first semester of one of the following specialised masters programs within the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology:
      • Master of Energy Systems
      • Master of Engineering Management
      • Master of Engineering Structures
      • Master of Environmental Engineering
    • be experiencing financial hardship.

    Selection criteria

    Applications will be assessed on the following criteria:

    • Financial need
    • Academic merit
    • Strength of a personal statement outlining career aspirations and the difference the scholarship support will make.

    Priority for selection will be given to financial need, with academic merit and the personal statement given equal weighting.

  • Application process

    Submit an online application via the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology coursework scholarships webpage.

  • When will I know the outcome?

    All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application approximately six weeks after the closing date.

  • About the donor

    Harold Swanton

    This scholarship was made possible through a generous bequest from the late Harold Swanton, who was born in 1912 and completed his Bachelor of Civil Engineering at the University of Melbourne in 1937.

    Mr Swanton was a regular attendee at alumni events and showed an active interest in the Melbourne School of Engineering until his death in 2015.
