Summary

The Health Science Rural Placement Bursary is offered to support students who are undertaking clinical placements in rural Australia as part of their nursing and allied health studies within the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences.

Benefits

The bursary provides a weekly allowance of up to $150, based on your placement duration. This is a one-off payment, paid on completion of the placement.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this bursary, you must:

  • Be enrolled in the Master of Nursing Science, Doctor of Physiotherapy, Master of Clinical Audiology, Master of Social Work, Master of Speech Pathology or Doctor of Optometry (or their successors)
  • Undertake a clinical placement in a rural or remote area (Modified Monash Model Category 2-7)

Selection criteria

The bursary is offered to student(s) in order of their application submission date until the funding allocation is exhausted.

Conditions

Students must submit an online declaration on completion of their placement confirming their attendance and any changes to details submitted in their initial application in order to receive payment.

How to apply

You must submit an application to Going Rural Health and include details of your clinical placement including start and end dates and the name and location of the placement.

When will I know the outcome?

We ask that you allow up to 15 business days for your application to be processed and outcome to be provided.

Students can be supported more than once in a calendar year.
