Lionel Gell Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship, worth up to $10,000, supports current second year students in Classical music; Composition (BMus Composition and Interactive Composition); Dance; Drawing, printmaking or photography; Film and television; Improvisation; Music theatre; Painting (figurative preferred); Production; and Theatre/drama. Payment can only be made once recipient has enrolled in third year.

  • Eligibility & selection criteria

    Eligibility

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

    • be a current second year student at the Victorian College of the Arts, entering third year
    • be an Australian citizen
    • be studying one of the following disciplines
      • Classical music
      • Composition (BMus Composition and Interactive Composition)
      • Dance
      • Drawing, printmaking or photography
      • Film & television
      • Improvisation
      • Music theatre
      • Painting (figurative preferred)
      • Production
      • Theatre/drama

    To accept this scholarship, successful recipients are required to write a letter of thanks and provide an artistic biography for the donors or trustees. On occasion recipients will be contacted to provide a progress report. Payment can only be made once recipient has enrolled in third year (at HECS census semester 1).

    Selection criteria

    Eligible applicants will be assessed on merit.

  • Application process

    Automatic consideration by the Head of Discipline in consultation with staff and submitted to the Director and Dean for approval.
