The Bank First MGSE Community Spirit Award
This award will be granted to a student undertaking a Master’s degree at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education who is involved in a community minded program(s) that supports refugees, people from disadvantaged backgrounds and/or Indigenous communities whilst studying at the University of Melbourne. This can include paid and/or voluntary work.

Eligibility & selection criteria
Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship, you need to:
- have completed at least one year of a MGSE Master’s degree
- be undertaking a full-time or part-time study load at MGSE in 2021
Selection criteria
- eligible applicants will be assessed on the merit of their application
- applications must address all questions in the application form
- references are required

Students must submit an online application.
Application questions - Applications must address the three questions below (400 words maximum)
- Provide a list of all activities that you have been involved in that relate to programs that support refugees, people from disadvantaged backgrounds and/or indigenous communities. This can include paid and/or voluntary work whilst undertaking your Master’s degree.
- Why is this important to you and what do you gain from giving up your time to help others?
- What benefit do these communities receive from your work?
Please provide two reference letters confirming involvement.
