The Bank First MGSE Volunteer Award

This award will be granted to a student undertaking a Master’s degree at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education to celebrate their voluntary contribution to the Graduate School and the wider University community whilst studying. Examples include peer mentoring, volunteering at the VCE summer school and participation in societies and associations within the University.

  • Eligibility & selection criteria


    To be eligible for this scholarship, you need to:

    • have completed one year of a MGSE Master’s degree
    • be undertaking a full-time or part-time study load
    • be involved in volunteer activities that are for benefit of the University community with a preference for MGSE. Examples include the following:
      • peer mentoring
      • volunteering at the VCE summer school
      • participation in MGSE or University societies and associations

    Selection criteria

    • Eligible applicants will be assessed on the merit of their application
    • Applications must address all questions in the application form
    • A reference confirming your participation is required
  • Application process

    Students must submit an online application.  The application form will be available when the scholarship opens.

    Applications must address the three questions below (400 words maximum each question).

    1. Provide a list of all volunteer activities undertaken at the University whilst studying at the Graduate School. Examples may include peer mentoring, volunteering at the VCE summer school or participation in societies and associations within the University as well other activities.
    2. Why is this important to you and what do you gain from giving up your time to help others?
    3. What benefit do these communities receive from your work?
