The 1856 Cricket Scholarship is awarded to students who are emerging cricket players in Premier Cricket.

This scholarship provides a living allowance of $5000 for one year, paid in half-yearly instalments of $2500.

Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
- Be enrolled in a course at the University of Melbourne
- Be an emerging cricketer committed to playing Premier Cricket with the Melbourne University Cricket Club (MUCC)
Selection criteria
The award is offered to the student(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on their application.
Conditions
This scholarship cannot be deferred to the following year. In addition, students must:
- Maintain an academic status of Good Standing
- Continue to play Premier Cricket with and represent the Melbourne University Cricket Club
