Summary
The Acusensus Scholarship for Women in STEM was established with a gift from Acusensus and is awarded to talented domestic students who are enrolled in a masters degree by coursework with the Faculty of Engineering and IT and identify as a woman (cis-gender and trans women) or non-binary.
Benefits
This scholarship provides a living allowance of $15,000 a year for two years, paid in two half-yearly instalments of $7,500 in April and September.

Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident
- Identify as a woman (cis-gender or trans women) or non-binary
- Be enrolled in the first semester of a Master of Computer Science, Master of Mechanical Engineering, Master of Mechatronics Engineering, or Master of Software Engineering.
Selection criteria
The scholarship is offered to the student(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on their personal statement and course entry score.
In the interest of equitable distribution of scholarships, other scholarships or prizes received from the University by applicants are considered.
The selection panel consists of:
- Two Associate Deans, Faculty of Engineering and IT (or their nominees)
- Professional staff member, Faculty Scholarships and Prizes team.
Conditions
This scholarship is subject to the Faculty of Engineering and IT Scholarship Terms and Conditions and cannot be deferred to the following year. In addition, you must:
- Agree to the University sharing their name and the name of their course with the donor of this scholarship and provide a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.
