Summary

The AG Whitlam international Undergraduate Scholarship was established with a gift from Arthur Gordon Whitlam and is awarded to international students who are enrolling in the Bachelor of Commerce.

Benefits

This scholarship provides a living allowance of $10,000 per year for three years, paid in half-yearly instalments of $5000 in April and September.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this scholarship, you must:

  • Have received an offer for an Overseas Fee Place in the Bachelor of Commerce in the year for which the scholarship is awarded
  • Have not completed subjects undertaken as part of a tertiary course (except for foundation studies programs, diplomas and approved agreement programs)

Selection criteria

The scholarship is offered to the eligible candidate(s) ranked highest based on their course entry score and the location of the educational institution where they completed their most recent qualification. No more than 10 per cent of scholarships will be offered to candidates with the same last country of education in each academic year.

In the event of a tie, more or fewer scholarships will be offered.

Conditions

This scholarship is subject to the Faculty of Business and Economics Scholarships Terms and Conditions and cannot be deferred to the following year.

In addition, recipients must pass all subjects and achieve a minimum 60 WAM in each half-year study period.

When will I know the outcome?

Scholarship selection is conducted in multiple rounds:

  • For students commencing in Semester 1, 2026 (Start Year Intake): Selection rounds occur between September 2025 and February 2026.
  • For students commencing in Semester 2, 2026 (Mid-Year Intake): Selection rounds occur between March 2026 and July 2026.

Successful applicants will be notified via a scholarship offer letter following the relevant selection round. Unsuccessful applicants will not be contacted.
