The Alastair Nicholson Memorial Scholarship was established in honour of the Honourable Alastair Nicholson AO QC RFD and is awarded to high-achieving Indigenous Students enrolling in the Juris Doctor.

The Honourable Alastair Nicholson AO QC RFD had a distinguished career and commitment to social justice, including advancing the interests of Indigenous Australians.
Benefits
This scholarship provides a one-off allowance of $3000, it will be split in $1500 as an establishment allowance paid shortly after enrolling in their course and $1500 in April or September.

Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
- Have applied for and received admission to the Juris Doctor
- Be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, and be accepted as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander by the community in which they live, or formerly lived.
Selection criteria
The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit. The Committee may also consider the applicant's demonstrated commitment and contribution to the Indigenous community.
Conditions
Students must affirm and maintain their eligibility for support for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. See: Establishing your eligibility
