Alex Chernov Scholarship

This scholarship, for Indian students, pays the full tuition fee for the one-year, full-time, Masters-level course from within the various specialist legal areas of the Melbourne Law Masters program at Melbourne Law School, as well as providing two equal payments of AUD$10,000 (totaling AUD$20,000). The recipient may also have the opportunity to undertake paid research work of up to $10,000 in total. Recipients will also receive mentoring by former Judge of the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of Victoria and Governor of Victoria, the Honourable Alex Chernov.

  • Eligibility & selection criteria

    Eligibility

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

    • be an international student from India, and
    • have applied for, and been offered a place in a Masters-level course from within the various specialist legal areas of the Melbourne Law Masters program at Melbourne Law School:
      • if commencing in the start-year intake (March), your application for your chosen course must be submitted by 31 October the year prior.
      • if commencing in the mid-year intake (July), your application for your chosen course must be submitted by 30 April of the same year.

    Selection criteria

    Selection for this scholarship is based on academic merit.

  • Application process

    Students offered a place in a Masters-level course from the Melbourne Law Masters program at Melbourne Law School, who applied for the course by 31 October the year prior (for start-year intake) and 30 April of the same year (for mid-year intake) will be automatically considered for this scholarship.
