The Alfred Artingstall Prize was established with a gift from Patricia Artingstall in memory of her husband Alfred Artingstall and is offered to students who have demonstrated the most outstanding performance on violin or viola.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this prize, you must be enrolled in the final year of the Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music (Honours) or Master of Music (Orchestra Performance) (or their successors) and specialising in Violin or Viola.

Selection criteria

The prize is offered to the student(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on their artistic performance. In the interests of equitable distribution of scholarships, other scholarships or prizes from the University of Melbourne received by students are considered.

Conditions

Students must agree to the University sharing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a note of appreciation or a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.
