Alfred Nicholas Fellowship

This fellowship is to be awarded in rotation, between the disciplines of Zoology, Genetics and Botany to an enrolled Doctor of Philosophy Science student in pursuit of an additional research project to expand the PhD project in a significant and interesting way.

In 2024, this will be awarded to a Botany student.

  • Eligibility & selection criteria

    Eligibility

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

    • Be a PhD student in BioSciences in Botany, and
    • Be in pursuit of an additional research project.

    Additionally, you must have:

    • Evidence of endorsement from your supervisor.

    This fellowship is to be awarded in rotation, between the disciplines of Zoology, Genetics and Botany.

    Selection criteria

    Eligible candidates will be ranked based on:

    • The extent to which the additional research project will enhance the PhD thesis and improve future career prospects,
    • The likely output and significance of the research, with an emphasis on big/exciting ideas.

    Preference will be given to second year PhD applicants.
