Summary
The Allan Reid Scholarship was established with a gift from the Reid Malley Foundation and is awarded to high achieving Australian students who are enrolled in a masters degree by coursework in Engineering. Preference will be given to students who are experiencing financial disadvantage.
About the donor
Allan and Janet Reid of the Reid Malley Foundation have generously established the Allan Reid Scholarship in perpetuity, rewarding exceptional students undertaking the Master of Engineering. Their commitment to engineering education will support and inspire passionate future engineers to reach their potential.
Benefits
This scholarship provides a living allowance of approximately $5000 per year (depending on the annual gift income) for the remaining full-time duration of the course, paid in equal instalments in April and September.

Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
- Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- Be enrolled in your first year of one of the 200-point or 300-point masters by coursework degrees in Engineering in the year for which the scholarship is awarded.
Selection criteria
The scholarship is offered to the eligible candidate(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on their Weighted Average Mark (WAM) for the course, application and FEIT Financial Need Score. Preference will be given to candidates who are experiencing financial disadvantage if ranked third or higher.
In the interest of equitable distribution of awards, other scholarships or awards received from the University by candidates are considered.
Conditions
This scholarship is subject to the Engineering and IT Coursework Scholarship Terms and Conditions and cannot be deferred. In addition, recipients must agree to the University sharing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a note of appreciation and a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship.

How to apply
You must submit a FEIT Financial Assessment Form and an application, including a personal statement addressing your reasons for studying Engineering, why you should receive the scholarship, and the intended use of scholarship funds.
When will I know the outcome?
All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application approximately six weeks after the application close date.
