Summary
The Avant Foundation Bursary was established with a gift from the Avant Foundation and is awarded to students who are enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine and are experiencing immediate financial disadvantage.
Benefits
This bursary provides a living allowance of $10,000 for one year, paid in two equal instalments of $5000 in April and September.
Recipients of the Avant Foundation Bursary will be invited to attend the annual Avant Awards night as guests of the Foundation. The event brings together research grant and bursary recipients to celebrate their achievements, recognise the impact of transformational medical research, and connect with members of the Avant Foundation community.

Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this bursary, you must be enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine in the year for which the bursary is awarded.
Selection criteria
The bursary is offered to the eligible candidate(s) ranked highest based on their University Student Financial Assessment ranking.
In the event of a tie, the bursary will be split equally.
Conditions
This bursary cannot be deferred. In addition, recipients must agree to the University sharing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a note of appreciation or a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.
