Bertalli Family Foundation Scholarships

Worth up to $15,000 over three years, the Bertalli Family Foundation Scholarship assists high achieving students, who completed school in a rural or isolated area, in transitioning to living in Melbourne and tertiary study.

  • Eligibility & selection criteria

    Eligibility

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

    • be an Australian citizen
    • have a strong academic ability
    • have a permanent address in a rural or isolated area
    • apply to commence the Bachelor of Commerce through via the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC)
    • meet the criteria to be eligible under the Access Melbourne Scheme

    Selection criteria

    Selection is based on academic merit and a SEAS application providing evidence of residence in rural or isolated areas.

    Selection is made based on information provided by VTAC at the time of selection. The Selection Committee will not have access to change of course preference information.

    Students who meet the eligibility criteria will be automatically considered. There is no separate application process.

What are the benefits?

The scholarship is valued at approximately $5,000 per annum (paid in May and October) for the duration of the course. Each scholarship will be awarded for up to three years at a time or the normal duration of an undergraduate commerce degree.

Recipients of the scholarship will automatically be admitted into the Abernethy Scholars Program. This program provides unique opportunities such as guaranteed access to the Faculty’s Career Mentoring Program, invitations to a variety of leadership events hosted by the Faculty and an academic mentoring opportunity with Professor Margaret Abernethy, Sir Douglas Copland Chair of Commerce and former Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics.
