Summary
The Biomedicine Access Scholarship is supported by the School of Biomedical Sciences and offered to domestic students who are commencing the Bachelor of Biomedicine and are experiencing disadvantaged circumstances. Preference is given to Indigenous students, students from regional or remote areas, and students who are experiencing financial difficulties.

The scholarship provides a one-off payment of $5000 in April (Start year intake) or September (Mid year intake).

Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or an Australian permanent resident
- Have applied for the Bachelor of Biomedicine via the VTAC Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS)
- Meet the Access Melbourne entry requirements for Bachelor of Biomedicine
Selection criteria
The scholarship is offered to eligible students who are ranked highest by the selection panel based on their disadvantaged circumstances and ATAR. All Indigenous students, students from regional or remote areas, and students from disadvantaged financial backgrounds are given preference. When determining the successful candidate for this award, other awards received by candidates are considered.
Conditions
This scholarship cannot be deferred to the following year.
Indigenous students must affirm and maintain their eligibility for support for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. See: Confirming your eligibility

How to apply
Students must submit the application form, which includes a personal statement addressing why they have applied for the Bachelor of Biomedicine and the impact receiving the bursary would have on their ability to commence.
