Summary
The Burnet Family Access Scholarship was established with a gift from the Burnet Family and is offered to students who are enrolling in the Bachelor of Commerce and are experiencing disadvantaged circumstances.
Benefits
The scholarship will provide a yearly allowance of approximately $5,500 for the standard full-time duration of the Bachelor of Commerce (three years).
Recipients of the scholarship will automatically be admitted into the Abernethy Scholars Program, which provides guaranteed access to the Faculty’s Career Mentoring Program.

Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
- Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident,
- Intend to commence the Bachelor of Commerce full time,
- Have strong academic ability,
- Apply to commence the Bachelor of Commerce through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC),
- Submit a VTAC Equity Schemes and scholarships application (formerly SEAS)
- Meet the criteria for Access Melbourne consideration.
Selection criteria
Selection is based on academic merit (as demonstrated by ATAR or equivalent) and information provided in your VTAC Equity Schemes and scholarships application (formerly SEAS).

How to apply
You will be automatically considered, if you have applied for admission in the award year and are eligible for Access Melbourne consideration.
When will I know the outcome?
Successful applicants will be contacted via email during December/January. Unsuccessful applicants will not be contacted.
