​​The CWN Sexton Scholarship for African or Asian Students from British Commonwealth Countries was established with a gift from CWN Sexton and is awarded to students who are enrolled in a Civil Engineering graduate coursework degree and are experiencing financial disadvantage.​

The scholarship provides a one-off payment of approximately $2,900 (depending on the annual gift income).

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be a citizen of an African or Asian country from the British Commonwealth (as according to https://thecommonwealth.org/our-member-countries)
  • Be enrolled in the Master of Civil Engineering and have between 12.5 and 100 credit points remaining at the time of application
  • Have an Academic Status of Good Standing.

Selection criteria

The ​scholarship​ is offered to the student(s) ranked highest ​by the selection panel based on​ their application and FEIT Financial Assessment Need Score.

Conditions

Recipients must agree to the University sharing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a note of appreciation and a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship.

How to apply

You must submit the FEIT Financial Need Assessment Form and an application and include:

  • ​A personal statement addressing how their current financial situation has affected their studies and how the funds will be used.​​

When will I know the outcome?

Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application approximately six to eight weeks after the application closing date.
