Summary

The Califole Melbourne Medical School Scholarship is offer to students who are enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine, have completed their secondary schooling in a state or territory government school, and are experiencing financial disadvantage. Preference is given to students who are from a regional or remote area of Australia.

Benefits

This scholarship provides a living allowance of $15,000 per year for four years, paid in half-yearly instalments of $7500 in April and September.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be enrolled in the first year of the Doctor of Medicine
  • Have completed secondary schooling in a state or territory government school.

Selection criteria

The scholarship is offered to the eligible candidate(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on their overall level of disadvantage.

Preference is given to candidates who are from a regional or remote area of Australia if ranked tenth or higher.

Conditions

This scholarship cannot be deferred to the following year.

Recipients must:

  • Maintain an Academic Status of Good Standing
  • Agree to the University providing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a note of appreciation and a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship by submitting an official statement of thanks.
