Cambridge Australia Scholarships
Cambridge Australia Scholarships support Australia's brightest graduates to follow their dreams and undertake Masters and PhD degrees at the University of Cambridge. Around 1,000 Australians have been supported through the scholarships, with up to ten PhD scholarships and a number of Masters degree half-scholarships offered each year.

Eligibility & selection criteria
Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- Have a degree from a recognised Australian university, and
- Have gained admission to the University of Cambridge to undertake a PhD degree.

Application process
Applications for this scholarship need to be made directly through the Graduate Admissions Office at the University of Cambridge, that is, students apply for admission to Cambridge and indicate that they wish to be considered for funding including merit-based scholarships.
You can apply for admission to a postgraduate degree, a College place and various sources of funding (including the Cambridge Australia Scholarship) via the University of Cambridge's Graduate Applicant Portal.
If applicants are successful in obtaining a place at Cambridge, they will be given a conditional offer by the Graduate Admissions office. These applicants will then be considered for any awards for which they are eligible, including the Cambridge Australia Scholarships.

When will I know the outcome?
Interviews are required for Cambridge Australia Masters Scholarships, but are not required, at this point, for other scholarships. Applicants who have been successful in their application for funding will be notified by the end of March (for PhDs) or in June/July (for Masters) for entry in October.

Variations of this award
In addition to the “Cambridge Australia Scholarships”, these scholarships for Masters students are also offered:
- Davis McCaughey Cambridge Australia Scholarships. This may cover both full and/or half of the costs associated with coursework Masters degrees (except MBA).
- The Cambridge Australia A. P. Platt Scholarships. This may cover half the costs associated with the coursework Masters degrees (except MBA).

What are the benefits?
The full scholarship is approximately $80,000 per annum inclusive of university fees and a maintenance allowance at the single student rate set for graduate admission.
The duration of the award is up to 3 years for PhD students.
