Summary
The Charles Qin Translation and Interpreting Scholarship is awarded to talented domestic students who are enrolled in a Master of Translating and Interpreting. Preference is given to students who have completed a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Chinese Studies at the University of Melbourne.
Benefits
This scholarship provides a living allowance of $15,000 per year for two years, paid in half-yearly instalments of $7500 in April and September.

Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident
- Have applied for and met requirements for the Master of Translating and Interpreting.
Selection criteria
The scholarship is offered to the student(s) ranked highest based on their course entry score.
Preference is given to students who have completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne with a major in Chinese Studies.
In the event of a tie, the scholarship will be awarded to the student with the highest weighted average mark for third-year subjects in the bachelor degree.
Conditions
This scholarship cannot be deferred to the following year. In addition, students must agree to the University providing their name and course details to the donor of their scholarship and provide a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.
