Dame Margaret Blackwood Soroptimist Scholarship

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

• Be female
• Be enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy - Science
• completing a substantial research project that aligns to one of the genetics disciplines: Plant; Animal; or Viral

Selection criteria

The scholarship is offered to eligible students who are ranked highest by the selection panel based on:

• Academic merit,
• Conference attendance,
• Prior research outputs,
• The strength of the research and its potential impact to the University of Melbourne community and broader society,
• The impact of financial assistance on the research project,
• Extracurricular activities,
• Equity grounds such as financial need. (preference)*.

*Students are ranked according to the approved Student Financial Assessment process

Additionally, please complete the student financial assessment (SFA), which will convey to the selection committee your level of financial need.
