Daryl Manley Scholarship

The Daryl Manley Scholarship was established for domestic students who intend to undertake the Bachelor of Commerce, and who are experiencing disadvantaged circumstances. Two scholarship are available every three years.

  • Eligibility & selection criteria

    Eligibility

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

    • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident,
    • not have been awarded results for subjects undertaken as part of a degree course at a tertiary institution in Australia, excluding extension studies completed as part of a Year 12 Program,
    • apply to commence the Bachelor of Commerce through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) and meet the entry requirement for commencement in full-time study in the year following completion of Year 12 or International Baccalaureate in Australia,
    • submit an application for the Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) via VTAC,
    • meet the criteria to be eligible under the Access Melbourne Scheme.

    Selection criteria

    Selection is based on  documented disadvantage associated with one or more of the seven equity categories and academic merit.

    Students who meet the eligibility criteria will be automatically considered.

    There is no separate application process.

What are the benefits?

The scholarship is valued at the Net Annual Income of the Trust. Each scholarship will be awarded for up to three years at a time or the normal duration of an undergraduate commerce degree.

Recipients of the scholarship will automatically be admitted into the Abernethy Scholars Program. This program provides unique opportunities such as guaranteed access to the Faculty’s Career Mentoring Program, invitations to a variety of leadership events hosted by the Faculty and an academic mentoring opportunity with Professor Margaret Abernethy, Sir Douglas Copland Chair of Commerce and former Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics.
