The de Wijn JD Student Scholarship was established with a gift from John W de Wijn AM KC and is offered to students who are commencing the Juris Doctor and are experiencing disadvantaged circumstances.
Benefits
This scholarship provides a total allowance of $50,000 over three years.
Payments will be scheduled as follows:
- $1500 - establishment allowance, paid shortly after enrolment
- Two instalments of $9250 - paid in April and September of first year
- Four instalments of $7500 - paid in April and September of second and third year

Eligibility
To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
- Have applied for the Juris Doctor under Graduate Access Melbourne category 'Disadvantaged socio-economic circumstances'
- Meet the entry requirements for the Juris Doctor
Selection criteria
This scholarship is awarded to eligible students who are ranked highest by the selection panel based on their disadvantaged circumstances.
Conditions
This scholarship is subject to the Melbourne Law School Awards Terms and Conditions and cannot be deferred to the following year. In addition, students must agree to the University sharing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a note of appreciation and a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.

You will be automatically considered for this scholarship if you have applied for admission under Graduate Access Melbourne (GAM).
