Summary
The Elizabeth Gray Scholarship was established by Liz's family, friends and colleagues who have formed an endowment fund, and is offered to students commencing the Juris Doctor from Indigenous Australian or refugee backgrounds, who are financially disadvantaged.
About the donor
Liz played a key role in Legal Aid Victoria during the 1970's, 1980's and 1990's as a Commissioner and in the general law division, addressing issues of social justice and equity.

This scholarship provides a living allowance of $5,000 per year for three years.

Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
- Be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person by descent, identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, and be accepted as such by the community in which you live or have lived
- Have applied for the Juris Doctor through Graduate Access Melbourne (GAM) under the 'Disadvantaged socio-economic circumstances' category and submitted the Disadvantaged Socio-economic Circumstances Supplementary Form
- Meet the Graduate Access Melbourne entry requirements for the Juris Doctor
Selection criteria
The scholarship is awarded on the basis of both academic merit and demonstrated financial need.
