The Fine Arts and Music Research Support Bursary is offered to graduate researchers are enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy in the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music and require additional financial support to complete their thesis.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this bursary, you must:

  • Be enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy in the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music
  • Have consumed at least 2.5 years (full-time equivalent) candidature
  • Be able to complete your thesis within the remaining candidature
  • Not be receiving a scholarship or be employed in a continuing or fixed-term position at any university
  • Not have previously received the Fine Arts and Music Research Support Bursary

Selection criteria

The bursary is offered to the graduate researcher(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on their application and endorsement of their supervisor.

Conditions

The selection panel consists of at least three academic members of staff from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music.

How to apply

You must submit an application and include:

  • A personal statement addressing the likelihood of completing your thesis within the nominated time frame and how the bursary will assist you to meet the requirements to graduate
  • A work plan for completion of your thesis

The application will be sent to the your principal supervisor for comment and endorsement.
