Summary
The Frederick Blake Shepherd Scholarship was established with a gift from Frederick Blake Shepherd and is offered to graduate research students with a physical disability.
Benefits
This scholarship provides:
- A living allowance of $39,500 per year pro rata (2026 full-time rate) for up to 2 years for students undertaking a Master by research degree or up to 3.5 years for students undertaking a Doctoral degree. The living allowance may be indexed annually and includes limited paid sick, maternity and parenting leave.
- A relocation grant of $2000 for students moving from States or Territories other than Victoria or $3000 for students moving from outside Australia.

Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
- Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or a New Zealand citizen
- Have applied for and received an offer for a graduate research degree commencing in the year for which the scholarship is awarded
- Have a physical disability
Selection criteria
This scholarship is offered to the candidate(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on their application and course entry score.
