Summary

The Future Engineer Prize was established with a gift from Alumni of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology and is awarded to high achieving students commencing their second year of a masters by coursework degree in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this prize, you must:

  • Be enrolled in a graduate coursework degree in the Faculty of Engineering and IT
  • Have completed at least 100 credit points (not including credited subjects)
  • Have an academic status of Good Standing.

Selection criteria

The prize is offered to the student(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on their Weighted Average Mark (WAM) and personal statement.

Preference will be given to students who are first in their family to attend university and/or have a refugee or low socio-economic background if ranked in the top 50% of applicants.


In the interest of equitable distribution of scholarships, other scholarships or prizes received from the University by applicants are considered.

Conditions

Students must agree to provide a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship and give permission for the University to provide the report, their name and course details to the donor.

Application

How to apply

Students must submit an application and include:

  • A personal statement and addressing their reasons for pursuing their field of engineering, and the benefit the award will have on their studies.
  • If applying under the preference categories, applicants must provide a Statutory Declaration that they are first in their family to attend university and/or provide a statement and supporting documents of the impact of their disadvantaged circumstances on their studies.
