Summary
The Georgina Sweet Bursary in Social Studies was established by Dr Georgina Sweet OBE, and is offered to high-achieving students who are in financial need.
About the donor
Dr Georgina Sweet OBE, a zoologist, academic and philanthropist. She had a long association with the University, where she completed her bachelor, master and doctorate degrees in Science. She began her academic career at the University in 1898, in 1916, she became Australia's first female acting professor, and in 1920, the University's first female associate professor.

How to apply
You must submit a Student Financial Assessment form and write a letter of application, and include:
- Details of your financial position in relation to your attendance in the course
- The name and value of any other award or financial assistance you receive
- Information which is relevant to the specific objective of the scholarships, as described in eligibility requirements.
If any applicant wishes to be considered for more than one award, a separate application letter must be lodged for each, but the detailed information need be provided only once.
Applications should be addressed to the Head of Department, Professor Louise Harms and submitted online via the application form.
