Summary

The Gilbert Rigg Scholarship was established with a gift from Rebecca Rigg and is offered to talented graduate researchers undertaking research in the field of mining and/or metallurgy.

Benefits

This scholarship provides a fortnightly stipend of approximately $52,000 per year (full-time rate) for two years for graduate researchers enrolled in a master by research and for 3.5 years for graduate researchers enrolled in a Doctor of Philosophy. The stipend includes limited paid sick, parenting and partner leave.

Eligibility

To be considered for this scholarship, you must have applied for and met the requirements for a graduate research degree in the field of Mining and/or Metallurgy.

Selection criteria

The scholarship is offered to the graduate researcher(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on their application.

Conditions

This scholarship is subject to the University of Melbourne Graduate Research Scholarship Terms and Conditions and can be deferred to the following year with prior approval from the University. In addition, graduate researchers must agree to the University sharing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a note of appreciation or a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.
