Summary

​​​​The Gordon and Isabel Humphrey Scholarship was established with a gift from John Humphrey in memory of his parents and is awarded to graduate researchers who are enrolling in a graduate research degree in a field of Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology.​

Benefits

​​This ​scholarship​ provides the following benefits:

  • ​A fortnightly stipend with a rate of $41,100 per year pro rata (2027 full-time rate) for up to 3.5 years for students undertaking a doctoral degree. The living allowance may be indexed annually and includes limited paid sick, parental and partner leave
  • ​A one-off relocation allowance of $2,000 for students moving from States or Territories other than Victoria or $3,000 for students moving from outside Australia
  • ​Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Single Membership for international students who require a student visa to study in Australia​

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this scholarship, you must have received a course offer for the Doctor of Philosophy – Engineering for commencement in 2027.

Selection criteria

The scholarship is offered to the graduate researcher(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on their application.

In the interest of equitable distribution of scholarships, other scholarships or prizes received from the University by students are considered.

Conditions

This scholarship is subject to the University's Graduate Research Scholarship Terms and Conditions and can be deferred to the following academic year with approval. In addition, students must agree to the University sharing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a note of appreciation or a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.​​
