Summary

The Harry Hains Memorial Theatre Bursaries were established with a gift from the Helen and David Hains Foundation and are awarded to students who are enrolled with the Victorian College of the Arts in a degree in a field of theatre and are experiencing financial disadvantage.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this bursary, you must be enrolled in one of the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Theatre), Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting), Bachelor of Fine Arts Honours (Theatre), Bachelor of Fine Arts Honours (Acting), Master of Theatre (Dramaturgy), Master of Theatre (Directing) or Master of Theatre (Writing) in the year for which the bursary is awarded.

Selection criteria

The bursary is offered to the eligible candidate(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on their financial assessment score and personal statement.

In the interest of equitable distribution of scholarships, other scholarships or awards received from the University by candidates are considered.

Conditions

This award cannot be deferred. In addition, recipients must agree to the University sharing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a note of appreciation and a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship prior to payment.
