The Helen R Freeman Scholarship in Mathematics and Statistics is offered to high-achieving domestic students who are enrolling in the Master of Science (Mathematics and Statistics) and identify as a woman.

Benefits

The scholarship provides a living allowance of $15,000 per year for two years, paid in instalments of $7500 in April and September.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident
  • Identify as a woman (cis-gender or trans women)
  • Be enrolled in your first semester or second semester of the Master of Science (Mathematics and Statistics) (or its successor)

Selection criteria

The scholarship is offered to the student(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on their entry score.

Conditions

This scholarship is subject to the University Coursework Scholarships Terms and Conditions and cannot be deferred. In addition, students must:

  • Maintain enrolment in their course with an academic status of good standing
  • Agree to the University sharing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a note of appreciation or a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.
