Summary
Henry Buck was a clothing manufacturer and retailer who supported many charitable organisations in Australia. He was awarded an O.B.E. in 1920 for his services to the community and business, and in 1933 his estate provided for his employees, the Children's Hospital and a scholarship in his name at the University of Melbourne. His clothing store, "Henry Bucks", remains a feature of Collins Street in Melbourne.
The Henry Buck Scholarship is awarded to the student who has the highest overall scholarship score entering into the Doctor of Philosophy for the year.
Benefits
The scholarship is valued at the Net Annual Income of the Trust. In 2023, this is approximately $10,000.
