Summary
The HWC Simpson Research Scholarship was established with a gift from Henry Walter Courtenay Simpson and is awarded to graduate researchers undertaking research related to animal industries or agriculture, with a particular emphasis on the maintenance of health, efficiency, or welfare within these fields. Preference is given to students who are undertaking research into animal problems.
Benefits
This scholarship provides a payment of approximately $25,000 per year (depending on the annual gift income) paid in half-yearly instalments for up to 3.5 years.

Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this scholarship, you must be enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy - Veterinary Science and be undertaking research in a field of animal industries or agriculture.
Selection criteria
The scholarship is offered to the candidate(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on their scholarship entry score and personal statement. Preference is given to candidates who are undertaking research into animal problems if ranked tenth or higher.
In the interest of equitable distribution of scholarships, other scholarships or prizes received from the University by candidates are considered.
Conditions
This scholarship may be deferred with prior approval from the University. Recipients must agree to the University sharing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a note of appreciation or a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.
