Summary
The Ian Urquhart Scholarship is offered to students enrolling in the Bachelor of Commerce who are in financial need or are otherwise disadvantaged.
Benefits
The scholarship provides a living allowance for three years, paid in half-yearly instalments in April and September. The value of each instalment depends on income from the Trust.
Each scholarship will be awarded for up to three years or the normal duration of the Bachelor of Commerce.
Recipients of the scholarship will automatically be admitted into the Abernethy Scholars Program, which provides guaranteed access to the Faculty’s Career Mentoring Program.

Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
- Have a strong academic ability,
- Be in financial need or otherwise disadvantaged,
- Apply to commence the Bachelor of Commerce through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC),
- Submit a VTAC Equity Schemes and scholarships application (formerly SEAS),
- Meet the criteria to be eligible for Access Melbourne consideration.

Selection is based on academic merit (as demonstrated by ATAR or equivalent), and information provided in your VTAC Equity Schemes and scholarships application (formerly SEAS).

You will be automatically considered, if you have applied for admission in the award year and are eligible for Access Melbourne consideration.
