This scholarship supports students who specialise in jazz or improvised music who otherwise would be unable or would struggle to complete their studies.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this award, you must:

  • be enrolled as a current Jazz & Improvisation student with the Faculty of Fine Art and Music
  • have completed at least six months of study
  • demonstrate financial need in order to complete studies

Selection criteria

Eligible applicants will be assessed on:

  • artistic merit
  • academic merit
  • career aspirations
  • financial need
  • likely success in completing the proposed course of study.

The Director and Dean, on recommendation from the Head of School, will approve the recipient.

You must submit the Student Financial Assessment form (as linked below) .  If you have already done this in round 1 (which closed 10 March 2025) and your circumstances have not changed then no need to do it again this round.
