Summary

The James Cuming Prize was established in 1910 by James Cuming, Head Chemist and later Manager of fertiliser company, Cuming Smith and Co. He was founder of the Society of Chemical Industry of Victoria and is also commemorated by a lecture theatre and research laboratory in the School of Chemistry.The prize is awarded to the student with the top mark in a subject relating to the study of agricultural chemistry.
