The James Cuming Prize was established in 1910 by James Cuming and is awarded to the student with the highest marks in a subject relating to the study of agricultural chemistry.

About the donor

James Cuming was the Head Chemist and later Manager of fertiliser company, Cuming Smith and Co. He was founder of the Society of Chemical Industry of Victoria and is also commemorated by a lecture theatre and research laboratory in the School of Chemistry.

Eligibility

To be considered for this award, you must be enrolled in the Bachelor of Agriculture and completed subjects Agricultural Systems Biology (AGRI10050) and Genetics for Agriculture (AGRI10051) in the award year.

Selection criteria

The award will be offered to the student(s) with the highest WAM across subjects containing Agricultural Chemistry.
