The Jane Ariadne Mclaurin Thomson and Barclay Thomson Scholarship is awarded to graduate researchers undertaking research in the field of arthritis.

Benefits

The scholarship provides a fortnightly stipend with a rate of approximately $4500 per year (pro rata full-time rate) for 3.5 years.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this scholarship, you must:

  • Have received an offer for, or be currently enrolled in, a graduate research degree in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences in the year for which the scholarship is awarded
  • Be undertaking research in the field of Arthritis.

Selection criteria

The scholarship is offered to the eligible candidate(s) ranked highest based on their faculty scholarship score.

In the event of a tie, the scholarship will be split equally.

Conditions

This scholarship is subject to the  MDHS Graduate Research Trust Scholarships Terms and Conditions and cannot be deferred to the following academic year. In addition, recipients must agree to the University sharing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a note of appreciation or a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.

How to apply

You must submit an application and include a brief explanation of your research, confirming that it is undertaken in the field of arthritis.

When will I know the outcome?

Successful candidates will be advised of the outcome of their application according to the Faculty's published timelines.
