Eligibility
To be considered for this bursary, you must:
- Be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person by descent, identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, and be accepted as such by the community in which you live or have lived
- Be enrolling or currently enrolled within any degree program of the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music
Selection criteria
The bursary is awarded to the highest ranked incoming Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students to the Conservatorium. The ranking is on the basis of audition performance and ATAR or equivalent academic merit. If there are no indigenous incoming students, then the scholarship can be awarded to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students of other year levels. The selection would then be on the basis of their weighted average mark and on advice of the relevant discipline Head of Department. Decisions will be approved by Director, Melbourne Conservatorium of Music and Dean of Faculty of Fine Arts and Music. In the event of a tie, the award will be split evenly between the recipients.
Conditions
Recipeints must agree to give permission for the University to provide their name and course details to the donor of their scholarship and to provide a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.
