The Jarnie Zhu Scholarship was established with a gift from Dr Jarnie Zhu and is awarded to domestic students who are enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine and are experiencing disadvantaged circumstances.
Benefits
This scholarship provides a living allowance of $10,000 per year for four years, paid in half-yearly instalments of $5000 in April and September.

Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident
- Be enrolled in first year of the Doctor of Medicine.
Selection criteria
The scholarship is offered to the student(s) ranked highest based on their overall level of disadvantage.
In the interest of equitable distribution of scholarships, other scholarships or prizes received from the University by students are considered.
Conditions
The scholarship cannot be deferred to the following academic year. Students must:
- Maintain an academic status of Good Standing
- Agree to the University sharing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a note of appreciation or a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.
