Summary

The John Baird Bursary was established by Mrs Jessie Alexander Baird Currie in memory of her late brother John Baird Esquire and is offered to students enrolled in a Doctor of Medicine course and who are in financial need.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this bursary, you must:

  • Be enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine course at the University of Melbourne
  • Provide evidence of financial need

Selection criteria

Eligible students are selected on the basis of financial need.

Conditions

This bursary cannot be deferred to the following year. In addition, students must:

  • Be enrolled as a full-time student in a course at the University of Melbourne. Students may be eligible to receive this bursary while enrolled as a part-time student.
  • Agree to the University sharing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a note of appreciation or a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.
