The John James Woodward Horticultural Prize is awarded to a student undertaking studies in agriculture, natural resource management, forestry or horticulture, which focus on the preservation of the environment and Australian flora, on the basis of academic merit and financial need.

Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this prize, you must:
- Be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate-coursework subjects or graduate research in the School of Agriculture, Food and Ecosystem Sciences (SAFES) which deal with the preservation of the environment and, in particular, in the field of Australian flora
- Demonstrated financial need by submitting an online Student Financial Assessment form

The prize is offered to the eligible student(s) ranked highest based on their Student Financial Assessment form.
