The John Nevill Research Scholarship was established with a gift from John Nevill and is offered to students who are enrolled in a Doctor of Philosophy in Veterinary Science.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this scholarship, you must:

  • Hold a degree in Veterinary Science
  • Be enrolled in a Doctor of Philosophy – Veterinary Science
  • Have met the requirements for confirmation of their candidature

Selection criteria

The scholarship is offered to the student(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on the quality of their application. Other scholarships and prizes received by the students are taken into consideration.

Conditions

The selection panel consists of the Assistant Director, Graduate Research (or their delegate) (Chair) and three academic members of staff from the Melbourne Veterinary School.

Application

How to apply

You must submit an application and include:

  • A personal statement addressing the purpose of their research and how the scholarship will be applied
  • Your curriculum vitae including leadership experience, publications or presentations related to their field of research
  • A statement of support from their supervisor.

When will I know the outcome?

  • Round 1 (Jan-March applications): May-July
  • Round 2 (June-August applications): September-October
  • Future Rounds: TBC
