Summary

This scholarship is to help graduates in Drama/Theatre to travel abroad and enjoy a measure of financial support during the early years of their careers. This scholarship is open for award biennially (in odd years).

Benefits

Approximately $45,000 is available, which may be split between several applicants.

Shortlisted applicants will be asked to attend an interview.

To accept this scholarship, successful recipients are required to write a letter of thanks and provide an artistic biography for the donors or trustees. On occasion recipients will be contacted to provide a progress report.

Recipients must forward a progress report regarding the work they are engaged in every six months for the following 18 months after receiving the award. Upon completing the work, recipients are required to submit a final report.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this fellowship, you must:

  • be an Australian citizen
  • be alumni or eligible graduand of the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Theatre Practice), Bachelor of Dramatic Art (Acting), Postgraduate Diploma or Masters degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music
  • have graduated within the previous ten years of the application closing date.

  • artistic merit
  • career aspitations
  • project and travel proposal
  • interview
  • shortlisted applicants may be required to submit additional examples of work for consideration.
