Summary
The Ken Butler Scholarship was established with a gift from the Ken Butler Scholarship Fund and is offered to domestic students who are enrolling in a Master of Engineering via a University of Melbourne pathway.
Benefits
This scholarship provides a living allowance of $20,000 per year for two years, paid in half-yearly instalments of $10,000 in April and September.

Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident
- Have applied for and met the requirements for any of the 200-point or 300-point Master of Engineering degrees (or their successors)
- Have completed an undergraduate degree at the University of Melbourne.
Selection criteria
The scholarship is offered to the student(s) ranked highest based on their course entry score. In the event of a tie, the scholarship will be offered to the student with the highest average mark across all undergraduate Level 3 subjects.
Conditions
This scholarship is subject to the Engineering and IT Commencing Scholarship Terms and Conditions and cannot be deferred. In addition, students must agree to the University sharing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a note of appreciation or a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.
