The Law Success Bursary is offered to support final year Juris Doctor students who are experiencing financial need to complete their studies.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be enrolled in the Juris Doctor and have completed a minimum of 200 credit points
  • Have enrolled in at least two subjects for the two most recent half-year study periods of 2026*.
  • Have not received a prior Law Success Bursary

*You must be a final‑year student who has completed 200 credit points and is enrolled in at least two subjects in each application semester period of 2026 (January–June 2026 and/or July–December 2026).

Selection criteria

The scholarship is offered to the student(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on their financial assessment score and personal statement.

How to apply

Applicants must submit both the Student Financial Assessment Form and an application to Melbourne Law School during the application period.

Apply with MLS

Applications submitted to Melbourne Law School without an accompanying Student Financial Assessment Form submission will not be considered.

When will I know the outcome?

Recipients will receive their outcome approximately one month after applications close.
